Sue Thomas – Landscape Artist
I came to art in my early teens, but did not continue with it until many years later, and then dabbled in every medium, but not producing anything I felt was acceptable.
My career followed a path in printing and graphic design. In 2016 I decided to paint full time and now reside and work from my studio in Wiltshire.
I regularly exhibit at local art exhibitions and have recently held a solo exhibition at Corsham Town Hall.
Inspired by the landscape my work depicts many of the places I travel to. I love nothing better than walking the countryside, experiencing the ambience, and capturing moments with my camera to use as reference material back in the studio.
After exploring a number of different styles and mediums, I now paint landscapes and seascapes in pastel. I have chosen pastel, as it is a very versatile medium and believe it can express the lovely textures found in our landscapes – whether it is rivers, downland, woodlands, rocks or grasses – there are always new vistas to capture.
“I hope to express, through my paintings, the beauty and textures found in the wonderful scenery that surround us and invite you to share with me.”
